What Can I Do For You
- Couples come to mediation with me in all stages of their case. Many couples meet with me before any paperwork has been filed with the courts. In this case, if desired, I can provide and explain the court forms. I can educate you on the court process and the paperwork that will be needed. If the case has already been filed, I can provide you with any additional information that you need regarding the court process.
- I will go through a detailed checklist with you of all of the important points and issues that need to be part of a thorough, complete agreement. I will identify and address details that you may not have considered, in order to avoid confusion and complications later.
- Because I am an attorney, I can provide information about the law as it relates to your case. Because of my knowledge of the law, I can give you realistic feedback about your case. I will offer suggestions, options, ideas and feedback about the issues in your case. Once you reach an agreement, I can draft that agreement in a form that you can submit to the court for approval.
- Because I am working as a neutral in your case, I cannot offer either of you legal advice. However, it is important to remember that an agreement is not binding until it has been reduced to writing and signed by both of you. Each of you has the right to have an attorney review your agreement on your behalf and give you advice on it before you sign it.
